This course is an immersion experience in Peruvian culture and eco-systems. We will spend three and a half weeks in Peru, staying with host families in Cusco. During the first week we will study Spanish language and Spanish culture, while the second week includes a four day trip to the Manu National Park (part of the head-waters of the Amazon). During week three we divide into groups with each student engaging in a service activity or continuing studying Spanish. Just before we leave Peru in week four we will visit sites outside of Lima.

There will be weekday and weekend exclusions, including to the Inca Machu Picchu ruins, and the famous Pisac Indian market. View the course schedule for details.

Our primary host in Peru is the Academia Latinoamericana, who is handling all our in-country arrangements.

Course Schedule and Travelogue

The course schedule contains a day by day itinerary for the trip. It will also double as a travelogue. Each day in the schedule will link to a page (to be constructed during the trip) that documents the activities of that day.
